Strike on July 10, 2026

We inform our kind customers that the Regional Secretariat of USB Private Work has declared a 24-hour strike on July 10, 2026.

The strike is called for:

  • The Puglia Region is about to launch an economic rebalancing plan for the regional health system (for the 2025 fiscal year) aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the regional health system and continuity of services for citizens.
  • A significant part of this “rebalancing” will be covered by a tax measure that includes an increase in the regional income tax rate (IRPEF).
  • So far, the Puglia Region has not started any dialogue with social partners.
  • Our organization has a confederal structure spread across the regional and provincial territories with two main macro-categories: the public sector (USB Public Employment) and the private sector (USB Private Work), and is one of the most representative Confederations, also a member of CNEL.

Such a strike, if not called off, could cause delays or cancellations of train and bus services during the following time periods:

RAIL SERVICES

FROM 12:00 AM TO 5:29 AM, FROM 8:31 AM TO 5:29 PM, AND FROM 8:31 PM TO 12:00 AM

BUS SERVICES (GARGANO NORTH)

FROM 12:00 AM TO 5:29 AM, FROM 8:31 AM TO 5:29 PM, AND FROM 8:31 PM TO 12:00 AM

REGIONAL AND PROVINCIAL BUS SERVICES

FROM 12:00 AM TO 5:29 AM, FROM 8:31 AM TO 12:29 PM, AND FROM 3:31 PM TO 12:00 AM

URBAN BUS SERVICES IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF SAN SEVERO AND MANFREDONIA

FROM 12:00 AM TO 5:29 AM, FROM 8:31 AM TO 5:29 PM, AND FROM 8:31 PM TO 12:00 AM

 It is also reported that, for the current year, an average of 6.90% of the staff participated in strikes called by the same organization.

However, it should be noted that:

striking is an individually guaranteed constitutional right, even if exercised collectively, and there is no obligation for a worker to declare in advance their decision to refrain from work;

a worker can participate in any protest even if they are not a member of the union that called or joined the strike.
