Service Charter
The Prime Minister’s Directive of January 27, 1994, “Principles on the Provision of Public Services,” enshrined the principle that the provision of public services should be guided by criteria of utmost attention to meeting the needs of citizens when they decide to use them. Public transport, seen as a means of ensuring the free movement of citizens, which is expressly required by the Constitution and Article 8 of the Maastricht Treaty, is among the activities for which the publication of a “service charter” is envisaged with the aim, both of strengthening the guarantee of free movement, and of improving the quality of services, as well as of the relationship between the service provider and the customer.
The service charter is a document intended as a tool for dialogue between the provider and the user of the service, along with all suppliers (public and private entities, consumer associations, etc.), which tracks the efforts made over time to ensure that the level of service quality perceived by the customer increasingly approaches the expected level. Customer input is essential to this dynamic process, in an open and fruitful dialogue aimed at achieving higher objectives.
Ferrovie del Gargano Company is actively involved in public transport and has drawn up this eighth edition of its mobility charter, reflecting its activities at both the national, regional, and local levels.
The service charter was adopted on November 20, 2000 and, at the same time, participated in the Standing Committee for the Implementation of the Service Charter established at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department of Civil Service. It is also, annually updated and, communicated to customers through distribution at company ticket offices, as well as at major ticket outlets. However, the document remains available to customers at the Head Office – Bari, Via Zuppetta, 7/d – and at the Operations Offices in San Severo – Italy -Strada comunale esterna 82 – S. Ricciardi and in Foggia – Italy – Via San Severo, 96.
